He's a skittish but sweet yellow tabby, my husband spotted him 1st and fed him, and of course he hasn't left since. He has apparently decided he likes the 'pampered life' of guaranteed food and protection from all these summer storms on my covered front porch. He's been with us for over a week now. His coat is bad, he has some old fight wounds & he needs fixed, so I made an appointment with the vet for next Thursday. Of course the fab five, especially Darby, are not pleased with this new visitor hanging out on their front porch, but luckily the herd are all indoor kitties and can't act out their displeasure.

Oh, good luck with him. This is where my heart is.
Keep us updated.
Thank you. I will, he is staying up in this evergreen tree/bush we have near the top at the corner of our porch, he's not after birds or anything, this is just where he is staying most of the time. He has a lot of old wounds, so I hope they can still fix him next week. But I will keep you updated, he has put on some weight already so that is a good thing!
Glad to hear they have such a friend in you :)
I have had some pretty beat up ferals, I mean in really poor shape, but we still manage to get them spayed/neutered, despite the wounds. Do you know if he will let you pet him? If so, perhaps he can stay in a cage with litterbox and food in your garage or somewhere he can be kept safe and separate until fixed?
If not, I understand, regardless, my heart goes out to this boy, I wish him and you the best of luck.
When I took Darby to have him fixed, he was an outside cat, but very loving, so he was used to people, but he had a horrible open wound on his jaw, of course it was serious enough for surgery because of very bad infection, so this yellow boy is not that bad, he just looks like a tom cat that has been in a lot of fights, all around his neck and jaw from what I can tell by just looking, so hopefully there will be no infection.
Not yet, he still acts a little scared of us but he was purring today & he is not cowering anymore when we move towards him, so he is warming up to us & a trust is building. I do have an outdoor storage building (it's a good building on a slab just small), but I was going to clean it out this weekend for after his surgery, I figure if we can't pick him up, we can lure him in with food, he is loving canned cat food. This is how I was going to get him in a cat carrier too. That is a good idea to put him up before hand & I do think I will do that, plus that way it won't be something totally foreign when he comes out of the neutering grogginess.
Thank you, I hope to find a home for him, I don't think we can bring another one inside ourselves...of course I would bring every animal I see inside with me if I could, we really need to move out of the city to a place with a lot of land and a good sturdy barn for all the critters I would like to take in!!
